Cry
Baby
started
in
2002,
when
Jure
Lenarčič
(vocal,
rhythm
guitar)
and
his
friend
Bine
Volčič
(solo
guitar)
-
without
having
any
previous
music
experience
-
formed
a
two
men
band
called
West
Star.
|

|
These very enthusiastic rockabilly dudes started to play numerous covers of great rockabilly and rock‘n’roll classics from Elvis Presley, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash etc. |
Soon
they
wanted
to
form
a
complete
band
and
they
found
another
Jure
to
play
drums
and
Aleš
Osterman
to
play
bass
guitar.
At
the
same
time
they
changed
the
band
name
to
Cry
Baby.
One
year
later
they
switched
drummers,
and
stand
up
drummer
Urban
Ropotar
joined,
while
bass
man
Aleš
changed
the
bass
guitar
for
a
double
bass.
At
that
time
the
boys
had
a
lot
more
music
experience
and
they
recorded
two
demo
songs:
“Little
kitty
cat”
and
the
Slovene
language
“Ker
si
odšla”,
but
have
never
released
them.
Cry
Baby
was
playing
around
Slovenia
with
this
crew
until
March
2007,
when
guitarist
Bine
left.
His
replacement
was
Lou
Jordaan
(ex.
Hi-Dramatic,
ex.
EightBomb)
and
two
months
later
Matevž
Perovšek
“Marcel”
(The
Bananas,
ex
EightBomb)
replaced
Aleš
on
the
double
bass.
With
this
new
crew
of
wellknown
musicians
from
the
Ljubljana
rock‘n’roll
scene,
Cry
Baby
became
like
a
new
band.
They
don’t
play
just
50’s
rockabilly
covers
anymore,
but
concentrate
on
their
own
songs
and
styles.
 |
 |
With
a
lot
of
energy
and
fresh
ideas
the
band
is
more
and
more
letting
go
of
the
original
50’s
sound,
replacing
it
with
influences
that
range
from
neo-rockabilly,
psychobilly,
country,
blues
and
boogie.
At
the
moment
Cry
Baby
is
recording
demo’s
and
preparing
for
their
first
album.
